An 80-year-old woman presented to the emergency room with eye pain, blurring vision and tears.

 She had mistakenly put ear drops containing a high percent of rubbing alcohol into her eyes the previous night, about 10 hours before.

She irrigated her eyes at home but the symptoms worsened .

After her eyes were checked in the emergency room, only irritation and redness were found, but she could had corneal injury.

She went back home after her eyes had been treated at the hospital.

the symptoms :

Using ear drops into your eyes can cause irritation, pain and in severe cases can cause corneal injury.

 Prevent this injury by reading labels carefully.

Also you can write a big warning sign on the ear drops container to remind you that this is only for ears not for eyes.
